Can my wife continue to contribute to her Roth IRA, even though she is now on Social Security disability?

That depends. Social Security is not considered “earned income” by the IRS, so it cannot be counted toward Roth IRA eligibility. If your wife has income from any job in addition to the disability payments, that can be used toward the eligibility. Also, if you have “earned” income and you file a joint tax return, she can contribute based on your earned income. The numbers get tricky with earned income under $10,000, so consult a tax advisor if your income is below that threshold.
